Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Medical Imaging
Make your mark in healthcare and prepare to enhance your skills and knowledge as a registered radiographer with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Medical Imaging degree from Thomas Edison State University (TESU). Building on your existing knowledge, our 120-degree online program is limited to medical imaging professionals who are already credentialed radiographers and possess the following certifications: ARRT Radiographer, ARRT- RT (R) or N.J. license NJ-LRT(R). Explore courses in image production, radiological techniques, digital imaging acquisition and pathology as you prepare for the next chapter in your career.
Qualifying certifications are issued by a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology accredited hospital-based program. You must present a copy of your original certificate and current renewal card. A total of 18 Area of Study credits must be from 3000/4000 level courses.
Degree Requirements
The following courses are required for the B.S. degree, Medical Imaging, and can be fulfilled in either the General Education or Electives sections of the degree chart.
- Computer Concepts and Applications (CIS-1070) or above (3 credits)
- Statistics for the Health Professions (HPS-2000) (3 credits)
- Intermediate Algebra and Above (3 credits)
- Higher Level Math above College Algebra (3 credits)
- Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab (4 credits)
- Anatomy and Physiology II with Lab (4 credits)
- Chemistry I or Physics I (4 credits)
- Certification: ARRT Radiographer ARRT-RT (R) or N.J. license NJ-LRT(R) (copy of original certificate and current renewal card).
- How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: The certification covers almost all of the credits required in the area of study. A second certification (nuclear medicine, radiation therapy or radiation protection) would complete the area of study.
