Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in any undergraduate degree can earn 12 graduate credits towards the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies.

The following courses can be taken as an undergraduate student:
- LAP-5000 - Liberal Arts and Professional Life (3 credits)
- SAM-5010 - Sense of Community I: Art and Morality (3 credits)
- SAM-5020 - Sense of Community II: Faith and Reason (3 credits)
- CCR-6100 - Change, Conflict and Resolution (3 credits)
How these courses apply to the bachelor’s degree:

To earn a total of 12 credits at the undergraduate level that can be applied to the M.A. in Liberal Studies, candidates may use these courses to satisfy humanities requirements in the general education program, or they may use these courses in the elective section of their bachelor’s degree program. Students enrolled in the Liberal Studies B.A. degree program may also use these courses in the Area of Study section of the degree.
M.A. in Educational Technology and Online Learning
Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in any undergraduate degree can earn 12 graduate credits towards the Master of Arts in Educational Technology and Online Learning.

Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in any undergraduate degree can earn 12 graduate credits towards the Master of Business Administration.

To earn a total of 12 credits at the undergraduate level that can be applied to the Master of Business Administration, candidates will need to fit these courses in the electives section of their bachelor’s degree program.

NOTE: Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree can also fit these courses in the General Management area of study section of the degree.
MPSL —Master of Public Service Leadership
Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students applying for the Master of Public Service Leadership (MPSL) have the option of taking any of the core courses in the MPSL (up to 12 credits) program. They need to meet with an academic advisor to determine what is available, which courses will match the student’s academic strengths and where those credits can be applied in the undergraduate degree:

- MPL-5200 - Program Analysis and Evaluation (3 credits)
- MPL-5800 - Public Service Leadership and Governance (3 credits)
- MPL-5820 - Law, Ethics, and Decision Making in the Public Sector (3 credits)
- MNP-5050 - Organizational Management and Leadership in Public Service (3 credits)
- MNP-5300 - Human Resource Management for Public Service (3 credits)
- MSP-6740 - Municipal Finance (3 credits)
How these courses apply to the bachelor’s degree:

Students do not necessarily need to be in a public service undergraduate degree to qualify for this program. Therefore, it is imperative that students meet with their academic advisors to determine what credits can be applied and where.
M.S. — Master of Science
Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in any undergraduate degree can earn 12 graduate credits towards the Master of Science (Applied Sciences) degree.

The following courses can be taken as an undergraduate student:
- APS-5100 - Project Management for Technology (3 credits)
- APS-6020 - Managing People in Technology-Based Organizations (3 credits)
- APS-6100 - Cost Estimation and Financial Management for Engineers and Technologists (3 credits)
- APS-6010 - Technology Innovation and Commercialization (3 credits)
How these courses apply to the bachelor’s degree:

To earn a total of 12 credits at the undergraduate level that can be applied to the Master of Science degree, candidates will need to fit these courses in the elective section of their bachelor’s degree program.

NOTE: Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science degree with an area of study in Technical Studies, Information Technology or Military Technology Leadership can fit APS-5100 in the area of study section of those BS degree programs. Please contact your academic advisor for more information.

Students interested in the M.S. in Aviation will need to work with an advisor to determine a course other than APS-6010. Courses AVM-5020: Air Carrier Operations and AVM-503: Airport Management and Operations can be considered. Please contact your academic advisor for more information.
M.S. in Cybersecurity
Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity can earn 9 graduate credits towards the Master of Science in Cybersecurity.

The following courses can be taken as an undergraduate student:
- CYB-5300 - Operating Systems Security (3 credits)
- CYB-5700 - Cyber Risk Management and Incident Response (3 credits)
- CYB-5800 - Cybersecurity Strategy, Governance, and Ethics (3 credits)
To earn a total of 9 credits that can be applied to the Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity, students enrolled in Bachelor's to Master's Program in Cybersecurity at TESU need to take the above graduate courses as substitute courses for the following undergraduate courses:
- ITS-1600: Fundamentals of Modern Operating Systems
- CYB-4210: Cybersecurity Risk Analysis and Management
- CYB-4220: Cybersecurity Policies, Programs and Compliance
M.S. in Data Science and Analytics
Bachelor’s to Master’s Program Courses
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Analytics through the Statistics.com partnership can take 12 credits from the options below and apply them to the area of study section of their program. Please contact your academic advisor for more information.

How these courses apply to the bachelor’s degree:

Students do not necessarily need to be in a public service undergraduate degree to qualify for this program. If they are in the Bachelor of Science in Homeland Security and Emergency Management, these four courses will replace required area of study courses in the B.S. degree. It is imperative that students meet with their academic advisors to determine what credits can be applied where in their degree plan.

How to Get Started

Current TESU Students

First, make an appointment to discuss your eligibility with an Academic Advisor.

Then, fill out the Bachelor’s to Master’s Inquiry Form.

Admission and Program Requirements

Thomas Edison State University undergraduate students and prospective students may apply for conditional admission to the Thomas Edison State University graduate program of their choice if they meet the following criteria:

They have earned at least 60 undergraduate credits toward a Thomas Edison State University bachelor’s degree.
They have a TESU grade point average (GPA) of 3.0.
They have at least three years of professional experience.

Applicants who meet the above requirements and are interested in the Bachelor’s to Master’s Program will complete the dedicated Bachelor’s to Master’s Form. Additionally, applicants to the Bachelor’s to Master’s Program are subject to the admission requirements of the Bachelor’s to Master’s Program, which includes the admission requirements of the University’s graduate programs, and includes submitting supplemental documentation along with their application.

It is understood that applicants to the Bachelor to Master’s Program will have not yet completed their bachelor’s degree.

Conditionally admitted students will not be permitted to enroll in graduate courses until they have successfully completed 90 undergraduate credits with an overall Thomas Edison State University GPA of 3.0. Conditionally admitted students may earn up to 12 graduate credits (4 courses) to meet requirements for both the bachelor’s and master’s degrees. These students will pay undergraduate tuition for the 12 graduate credits (4 courses) and must maintain their active undergraduate enrollment status. Note: there are recommended courses in each graduate program in which undergraduate students may enroll. Students should check with an advisor for those courses.

Students who do not achieve a 3.0 GPA in their graduate course work will not be permitted to take additional courses. Students who do not complete the 12 credits successfully will have to reapply for admission to graduate study.

Students who maintain a 3.0 in their bachelors degree will be admitted to their masters program upon certification of the degree.

Students who do not maintain a 3.0 grade point average at certification will be invited to submit a personal statement and resume for the consideration of the admissions committee.
