Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Aviation Maintenance Technology
Broaden your horizons and develop your technical expertise with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree with an area of study in Aviation Maintenance Technology from Thomas Edison State University (TESU). Our 120-credit program is designed for students holding the FAA Airframe and Powerplant license. At TESU, equivalent military training may also be considered for enrollment in our program. A total of 18 Area of Study credits must be from 3000/4000 level courses.
Degree Requirements
The following courses are required for the BS degree with an area of study in Aviation Maintenance Technology and can be fulfilled in either the General Education or Electives sections of the degree chart.
- Statistics (3 credits)
- College Algebra (3 credits)
- Higher Level Math above College Algebra (3 credits)
- Physics I with Lab (4 credits)
- Physics II with Lab (4 credits)
- Computer Concepts (3 credits)
- Chemistry with Lab (4 credits)
Certification: FAA Certificate in Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics. Equivalent military training may be considered.
How Students Earn Credit in the Area of Study: Students’ areas of study are completed by the license, depending on the rating.
Note: Courses listed in the Area of Study are offered as a guide. Other courses may also be considered appropriate for the program. The inclusion of similar courses must be reviewed by the Evaluation team. Students must submit their program plan for review to ensure that course selection is appropriate for the degree.
