- Students do not have to preselect this plan, but will be automatically enrolled once the 9-credit per term threshold has been reached.

Credit Hour Residency Requirement
Students who use Per Credit Tuition (excluding those who enroll under a military plan) with the intention of earning an associate or bachelor’s degree from Thomas Edison State University must complete 15 credits via Thomas Edison State University online (OL), Guided Study (GS) or e-Pack (EP) courses. This requirement may be waived by paying the Residency Waiver Fee.
Note: All tuition and fees listed here were approved on June 7, 2024, by the Board of Trustees of Thomas Edison State University and are effective for the August 2024 term. Tuition and fees are subject to change.
Notes:
- If your degree program requires a course not offered by Thomas Edison State University, then you may need to take that course at another institution. Those courses are not covered by either tuition plan, and you would be responsible for any and all costs incurred at that institution.
- Per Credit Tuition does not apply to nursing students or graduate students.
- The Full-Time Flat-Rate Tuition plan does not apply to nonmatriculated, nursing, military or graduate-program students.
- The Full-Time Flat-Rate Tuition Plan does not include TECEP and PLA registrations. Eligible students that register for 9 or more credits of Online (OL), Guided Study (GS) and/or E-packs, in addition to a TECEP and/or PLA will be charged the respective rate for the TECEP and/or PLA registered course separately.
