Expanding Mental Health Nursing in New Jersey Grant Program

Exciting new career opportunities await! TESU, in conjunction with Ancora Psychiatric Hospital, Capital Health and Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, is looking for the next class of RNs dedicated to psychiatric/mental health nursing.

Federally funded by a Department and Labor grant, this training program is designed for both experienced and new RNs who are employed in or are interested in the field of psychiatric/mental health nursing in New Jersey.

About the Program


  • Tuition Reimbursement

    Depending on the availability of grant funds, the cost of tuition and books may be fully covered for RNs who qualify. Please note that students who are eligible for other sources of funding, i.e. employer tuition reimbursement and GI Bill benefits, must use up those sources of funding first.

    Funding Eligibility Requirements


    • RN license
    • Employed in or interested in the field of psychiatric/mental health nursing in New Jersey
    • Legally allowed to work in the United States
    • Official transcript(s) showing conferred degree(s)
    • Admittance into the TESU RN-BSN, Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner or Psychiatric Nurse Preceptor Certificate program
    • Completion of the eligibility form
    • Completion of all currently available FAFSA forms, use school code: 011648; the FAFSA must be completed to determine eligibility for grant funding
    • Preference is given to RNs in the local area (New Jersey, Delaware, and Pennsylvania)
    • Preference is given to RNs who are already working in the field of psychiatric/mental health nursing
  • Grant Funded Tuition Student Withdrawal Procedure

    This procedure is for all federal, state, and private tuition grants, excluding Federal Title IV, State entitlements, and other scholarships. This procedure does not supersede third party grant requirements.

    Students that withdraw from a course prior to Day 10 are not entitled to any tuition grant. Day 10 is defined as the 10th calendar day of a term. (i.e. term start date of July 1 will reach Day 10 on July 10th) Tuition will be adjusted based upon the University published refund policy. The student is responsible for the balance due to the University. The student will have a financial hold placed on their account which will prevent future registration until the balance is paid.

    Tuition will be adjusted based upon the University published refund policy for students that withdraw on or after Day 10. Students are eligible to utilize grant funds to cover remaining balances owed to the University. However, students are subject to the University published Satisfactory Academic Progress policy (SAP).
