Sending Transcripts and Other Documents to TESU

Please ask your former institutions to send your transcripts to TESU electronically if possible. If an email address is needed to send your transcripts electronically, please send them to transcripts@tesu.edu.

Guides for Sending Documents to TESU

The method for sending your transcripts will depend on your background. Read the applicable guides below for a full explanation of the process you should follow.
  • How do I send transcripts and documents to TESU?
TESU will only evaluate official transcripts. Faxed, scanned, emailed, unofficial, student copies and photocopies will not be evaluated.

The best way to have your official college transcripts sent to Thomas Edison State University is through one of the following secured electronic delivery systems.

If one of these services require an email address to send it, please use transcripts@tesu.edu. We do not accept transcripts sent by email as an attachment or through a service other than the ones mentioned above.

A secondary way you can have your transcripts sent to the University is by mail to the address below. Official transcripts should be mailed from the institution’s Registrar/Records Office directly to Thomas Edison State University. We will also accept official transcripts which have been sent to a student in a sealed envelope and then forwarded to us directly from the student. If it appears the envelope has been opened, we will not accept the transcript.

    Office of the Registrar
    Thomas Edison State University
    111 W. State St.
    Trenton, NJ 08608

Please note: All Graduate applicants must submit an official transcript from the institution which awarded their baccalaureate degree.

  • How do I send foreign credit for review?

TESU will not evaluate transcripts from other countries. We will accept the credit recommendations from one of the following agencies when the recommendations are based on a course by course evaluation and sent on an official transcript to TESU.

For a full listing of International Student Policies, as well as contact information for the agencies listed above, please visit our University Catalog.

  • How do I send military credit for review?

You may request to have official military transcripts sent by contacting your corresponding military service branch. For more information regarding contact information for each military branch visit Earning Credits for Military Training.

Please note that Coast Guard, Army, Marine Corps and Navy Active Duty Reserve and Veterans can now request an official transcript through the Joint Services Transcript website.

  • I have credit from another source. How can I send it?

Thomas Edison State University accepts and awards credit for many types of professional training, licenses and certificates, and different examination programs.

    Examination Programs

TESU awards credit for different college-level examination programs. An official transcript from the institution must be sent in order for credit to be awarded.

For more information regarding Exam programs-please visit Examination Programs.

    Licenses and Certifications

For a complete listing of licenses and certifications that TESU has reviewed for credit, please visit Licenses and Certifications.

In most cases, an official notarized copy of the license/ certification (accompanied by the Student Submission of TESU-Assessed Credentials form) needs to be sent in order for credit to be awarded.

Professional Training Reviewed by ACE (American Council on Education) and NCCRS (National CCRS)

ACE/NCCRS courses with credit recommendations: Courses from TESU Approved Educational Providers are accepted for credit because they have recommendations from either ACE or NCCRS.

    • TESU requires a Credly transcript for ACE-reviewed courses and/or professional training. Please note that Sophia, LLC courses are recommended for credit by ACE and Sophia courses must come to TESU on a Credly transcript to be reviewed for transfer credit. We cannot review Sophia transcripts that come through Parchment from Sophia, LLC directly as they do not contain the ACE recommendation information needed to make the credit award.
    • Per University agreement, two ACE/NCCRS reviewed organizations, Study.com and StraighterLine, will send official transcripts directly to Thomas Edison State University instead of through ACE/NCCRS. To be official, the transcripts must come directly from those organizations, not from them to the student. For Study.com, we will not accept the credit from the ACE transcript, only the Study.com transcript is acceptable for credit review.
    • NCCRS organizations issue their own transcripts. The organization offering the course will have information on how to send the transcript of the credit to TESU.
    • We are aware that some organizations that have ACE recommended coursework do not utilize the Credly Acclaim Platform to issue official transcripts (for example Joint Knowledge Online courses EJPME I & EJPME II). If the organization does not use Credly but does have an official transcript or certification they can send directly to TESU, we will review the documentation for credit. If the organization does not have an option to issue their own official transcript directly to TESU to be reviewed for credit, students need to send us a notarized copy of their completion certificate and submit it to us with and in accordance with the instructions on the ACE recommended Credits when Credly is not an option. The student can email the documents to us as long as the notarization can be seen on the copy of the certificate. This option is ONLY acceptable if the organization is ACE approved, does not use CREDLY, and will not send documentation directly to us on behalf of the student.

To obtain credit for your reviewed FAA license, follow these instructions carefully.

Per University agreement, edX will send your TLR to TESU directly. They will be considered official when sent directly from edX to TESU.

The University has an agreement with the colleges in the Consortium for the Assessment of College Equivalence (CACE) to accept recommendations from their recent reviews. If you find your training program or credential on any of the member websites, please email plr@tesu.edu and we will follow up with you.
