At TESU, our online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) program is designed for licensed registered nurses (RNs) who are ready to further their education and pursue new career opportunities.

Our accelerated upper division BSN program is designed for adults who have either completed at least 60 college credits, or a bachelor’s degree in another area. This is a full-time, 15-month program that prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Exam for RNs (NCLEX-RN), as well as employment in nursing upon graduation. This program is hybrid offering online and on-campus courses.

  • Accelerated BSN

    The Accelerated BSN Program at Thomas Edison State University in New Jersey is a 15-month Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program designed for adults who have earned a bachelor’s degree (non-nursing) completed prior to acceptance and who are interested in becoming registered nurses. There are two pathways to the degree. One for students who already have a Bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing area of study and one for students who have some or no college credits. This is an intense, full-time program that prepares graduates for the National Council Licensure Exam for RNs (NCLEX).

  • RN to BSN/MSN

    The RN-BSN/MSN degree program at Thomas Edison State University is designed for experienced RNs who want a quality education with the convenience and flexibility that an online program can offer.

    RN-BSN Program
    Graduates of associate degree and diploma programs of Nursing may enroll in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree only (RN-BSN program).

    RN-BSN/MSN Program
    Students may also earn both a BSN and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree (RN-BSN/MSN program) with preparation as a Nurse Educator, Nurse Administrator or Nursing Informatics Specialist at the master's level.

  • MS in Nursing*

    The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program is designed for experienced nurses with a BSN degree who are independent learners and who want the convenience and flexibility an online program can offer. The MSN degree requires a minimum of 36 credits consisting of different combinations of courses: core, direct care core, electives, specialty, and Practicum. Two years experience in nursing is recommended and a BSN degree from an accredited program is required.

    Three areas of nursing specialty are offered: Nurse Educator, Nursing Informatics and Nursing Administration.

    The Nurse Educator program prepares graduates for teaching roles in healthcare and academic settings. The Nursing Informatics program prepares graduates to function as a nursing informatics specialist. The Nursing Administration program prepares graduates for the role of nurse administrator in healthcare settings. A certificate in the selected area of specialty is awarded along with the MSN degree.

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice

    The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) is an online doctoral degree program with a specialty area in Systems-Level Leadership. The program prepares students to lead healthcare organizations.

    The 36-credit program focuses on the improvement of evidence-based outcomes using theoretical knowledge and systems-level initiatives to advance nurses to the highest level of nursing practice. The program prepares nurse leaders with competencies in advanced nursing practice, organizational leadership, economics and finance, healthcare policy and technology.
