Health Profession Programs
The W. Cary Edwards School of Nursing and Health Professions Areas of Study are designed to help you expand your career potential in the health care field while opting for an alternative to traditional, campus-based education.
If you are interested in advancing your health care career, including a pathway to becoming a registered nurse (RN), our Health Professions areas of study will:
-
Meet a critical demand while increasing your career potential.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment across all health care occupations is projected to grow 16% from 2020 to 2030. Additionally, professions in this category are projected to add more jobs than any other occupational group.
-
Position you to continue undergraduate and graduate-level study.
Our Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree with an area of study in Applied Health Studies is ideal for those interested in continuing their education in the School’s Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program with an Area of Study in Health Studies or the Accelerated BSN Program.
-
Prepare you to thrive in multiple health care settings.
Completion of a Health Professions degree will position you for mid-level, supervisory and managerial roles in your current field, expand your professional options and enrich your collaborations with health care teams and interactions with patients.
-
Build on a rewarding career.
Our Health Professions areas of study are ideal for those already working in the health care field, including paramedics, emergency medicine technicians, medical records administrators, medical office administrators and medical technologists. Credits earned or transferred into the Area of Study will transfer seamlessly into the Accelerated BSN Program general education and program prerequisites for those interested in applying to the nursing program.
-
Offer efficient, cost-effective pathways to a degree.
Degree completion has never been more feasible with our affordable tuition rates, Zero Textbook Costs, prior learning assessments and credit-by-exam options backed up by 24/7 student support. TESU also has one of the most generous transfer credit policies in higher education.
