Earning TECEP® Credit

Grades
TECEP® grades are recorded as CR (Credit) or NC (No Credit) and do not affect the grade point average (GPA). Students who register but don't test or withdraw by the last day of the term will receive an NT (Not Taken) grade. An official transcript will not show a numeric score, a letter grade, an NC or NT grade, only exams successfully completed and the number of credits earned.

Students can view their TECEP® grades in their Online Student Services account and will be mailed a hard copy grade report.

The minimum score required to earn credit on a TECEP® exam is equivalent to a letter grade of C.

Grade Reporting for Online Tests
Students who take multiple choice tests will see a screen with their unofficial test score when they finish testing. The official grade will be posted in the student’s online student services account approximately one week after testing (for multiple-choice exams) or approximately two weeks after testing (for essay exams and exams with multiple-choice and essays).

Grade Reporting for Pen/Paper Tests
The official grade will be posted in the student’s online student services account approximately two weeks after the Office of Test Administration receives the exam from the student’s proctor.

Non-Matriculated Students
Students who are enrolled at another institution and wish to have their results sent there will need to request an official transcript.

Retesting
Students may take a TECEP® exam one additional time if they do not pass on their first attempt but must re-register and pay another test fee.
