What does a credit hour residency requirement mean?
Residency requirements are courses that you must complete with Thomas Edison State University. Residency requirements at Thomas Edison State University do not mean that you must physically come to the University or attend courses at any physical location.

What is the credit residency?
In order to satisfy the credit hour residency requirement for the Per Credit Tuition Plan, students pursuing an associate degree or a bachelor’s degree must earn 15 semester hours of Thomas Edison State University credit via the University’s Online, Nursing Online, Guided Study or e-Pack courses.
In order to satisfy the credit hour residency requirement for students in the Military Degree Completion Program, Navy College Program Distance Learning Partnership or the ArmyIgnitED/GoArmyEd Program, service members must earn 12 semester hours for an associate degree and 24 semester hours for a bachelor’s degree of Thomas Edison State University credit. All Thomas Edison State University earned credit satisfies the military credit requirement, including Guided Study/Online/Blended/e-Pack courses, TECEP exams and/or Portfolio Assessment.

What courses count toward the credit hour residency requirement?
Thomas Edison State University Online, Nursing Online, Guided Study and e-Pack courses satisfy the Per Credit Tuition Plan credit hour residency requirement.
All Thomas Edison State University earned credit satisfies the military credit hour residency requirement, including Guided Study/Online/Blended/e-Pack courses, TECEP exams and/or Portfolio Assessment.

How can I check the number of residency credit hours I have taken so far?
If a credit hour residency applies to your selected tuition plan, it is noted in MyProgress in the section entitled "Show Program Notes". Within the note is a listing of the courses you have taken that satisfy the residency requirement, as well as a total of the credits.
On your Unofficial Transcript courses that meet the credit hour residency are listed with a term and the type of course in the section number. GS/OL/SD/EP meet the 15 credit PCTP residency. All TESU credit types meet the military programs residency of 12 for an Associate’s degree and 24 for a Bachelor’s degree.
