Transferring to TESU is EASY!
With one of the most generous transfer credit policies in higher education, degree completion is convenient with our online courses, prior learning assessment options and college level testing programs, all delivered to you on your schedule.
Have your associate degree from a New Jersey community college? Your TESU general education requirement is complete!
Under the New Jersey Comprehensive Statewide Transfer Agreement, students who have earned an A.A. or A.S. degree from an N.J. community college after 2005 will be accepted as having completed TESU’s general education requirements. The only general education courses that will be required is our SOS-1100 course and any specifically marked as "DEGREE REQUIRED" for the specific degree desired. In addition to fulfilling the general education requirements, we will use all additional credit, up to 90 credits, earned at all community colleges to fill any other requirements in your area of study and electives.

All students earning a baccalaureate degree must complete SOS-1100: Critical Information Literacy and a Capstone Course through TESU courses.
Have you served in the military or completed municipal or corporate training? You may be able to earn credit for those experiences, too. - WE MAKE IT EASY FOR YOU
- Our online application is quick and easy to complete. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.
- No application fee for New Jersey Community College graduates.

We offer 12 terms a year, so you will never need to wait to get started! Most students begin right away by registering for SOS-1100: Fact, Fiction or Fake? Information Literacy for Today, which has zero textbook fees.
Welcome PTK Honor Society Transfer Students!
PTK members receive a free Application Fee (saving $50!).
Upon application, select "I am a PTK member" and include your PTK member ID. Upon verification, the application fee will be waived!
Undergraduate and Graduate Scholarship Opportunities
Thomas Edison State University offers up to ten $500 Phi Theta Kappa annual scholarships for new Undergraduate and Graduate students. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.
The criteria for the scholarship is:
- Phi Theta Kappa Member
- Earned 3.0 or higher GPA
- Register for at least two TESU online courses (6 credit minimum)

PTK Edge Leadership Courses = Transfer Credit
TESU awards credit for PTK Edge and Leadership Courses towards earning your bachelor’s degree:
- TESU will award three credits upon completion of PTK Edge Leadership course.
- TESU will award three credits upon completion of the PTK Leadership Development Studies courses.

Transferring from a New Jersey Community College? Our TESU/NJ 3+1 Pathways Program allows you to earn your associate degree and complete an additional 30 credits at your New Jersey Community College! Then seamlessly transfer up to 90 credits toward a bachelor’s degree at TESU.
