TESU Hosts Virtual Cybersecurity Panels Showcasing Industry Experts and Innovation

In honor of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the School of Science and Technology at Thomas Edison State University (TESU) will host two virtual panel discussions on critical cybersecurity topics. The interactive sessions, open to the public, will feature industry experts and TESU course mentors offering insights into the latest challenges, emerging trends and innovations in cybersecurity.

“As we navigate an increasingly interconnected world, understanding and addressing cybersecurity risks is more essential than ever,” said Saeed Esmaili Sardari, Ph.D., interim dean of the School of Science and Technology at TESU. “Attendees will gain fresh perspectives and engage in thought-provoking conversations shaping the future of cybersecurity.”

The sessions are ideal for professionals, students and anyone interested in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.

Panelists include:

  • Dale Cline – founder and chief executive officer of CYBERShark, Inc. The firm provides cloud-based 24/7 Security Operations Center-as-Service for securing customer data. Cline also mentors computer networking courses at TESU.
  • Larry Feldman, Ph.D. – senior security engineer at Huntington Ingalls Industries with more than 25 years of experience in IT, cybersecurity and critical infrastructure. He also serves as a cybersecurity course mentor at TESU.
  • Denise Kinsey-Bergstrom, Ph.D. – program chair for the Master of Science in Cybersecurity program at Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio. She has served as a cybersecurity course mentor at TESU.
  • Michael Silas, Ph.D. – global head of Cybersecurity Data and Infrastructure Engineering at HSBC, a global banking and financial services organization. Silas mentors cybersecurity and database fundamentals courses at TESU.

“This is a valuable opportunity for the University community to connect with leaders at the forefront of cybersecurity,” noted Sardari.
